The Obsidian Wastes — Graveyard of Empires

The Obsidian Wastes are a shattered battle-world left from the Sundering, its orbit choked with the hulls of ancient war-fleets and patrolled by scavenger armadas.

Status in the conflict: Neutral / Dangerous.

This was the site of a cataclysmic battle during the Sundering itself, and nothing has grown back. The surface is glass and slag. The orbit is a debris field of war machines from an age nobody living remembers clearly.

Echo-storms sweep the plains — atmospheric phenomena that replay fragments of sound from the battle, so that the Wastes are never truly silent. Crews who spend too long there report hearing things they would rather not discuss.

It is nobody's territory, which is exactly what makes it dangerous. Scavenger fleets strip the hulls. Relics of the Sundering surface and vanish. It is the universe's reminder that some wounds stay open for a very long time.
